The Messenger of Allah said:
مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاَهُ فَهٌذَا عَلِيٌّ مَوْلاَهٌ. أَللٌّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالاَهُ وَ عَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ
“Whomsoever I am his master, this 'Ali is also his master. O’ Allah! Be a friend of one who is a friend to him ('Ali) and be an enemy of one who is an enemy to him.”
